They're Watching YOU!

If I had a nickel for each time I heard this... “I don’t know where my child get this from.” I’ll be RICH! How can one expect their child to act a certain way if you running around like them? Honestly, who’s the adult? In my opinion, having a child does change everything. Not only are you accountable for the things you do, but now you’re responsible for THEIRS. If we see our children doing things that is below the standard of our home, we correct it on the spot. We’ve had to “unteach” things our children came home with. We are careful who we allow around our children. It is our responsibility that our children are not being negatively influenced by outsiders. The bible gives us an example of parental accountability. Read 1st  Samuel Chapters 2-4. This verse pretty much sums it up:

1st Samuel 3:13 “For I have told him that  I  will judge  his house  for ever  for the iniquity  which  he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.”

Another instance is in our intermediate family, saying the “S” word is forbidden. So, if we accidently slip up and say “Shut up or stupid” our children would respond by saying, “that’s a bad word, we can’t say that.”  Children can keep their parents in check too. But we as parents has to instill valuable insights and line up with what we tell them. Whether you want to admit it or not… Your child mimics your behavior! They do as you do!

So now, if your talk isn’t lining up with what you do, then maybe your child isn’t the one with the issue! Huh?
